Audire Fluctus — Velamen (2019) — predecessor, original garment
CONCEPT
The installation Resonare de Audire Fluctus follows the concept of the Audire Fluctus garment. It was first presented at the spring Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week 2019. Its essence was revealing invisible electromagnetic waves. Wearers of the garment find themselves in the role of technological „flâneurs“ to whom this layer of reality, unobservable to the naked eye, was revealed. For pilgrims of Audire Fluctus, the metropolis becomes a visible energy node and storms bring a symphony in the form of electromagnetic discharges of thunder.
In Prague’s Studio Prám, the installation Resonare de Audire Fluctus further explored and developed the phenomenon. Antennas placed throughout the gallery space sensed omnipresent electromagnetic waves. Based on this data, the kinetic sculpture continuously printed from tiny metal particles onto a magnetic base an amorphous object as a tangible record of EM activity. A series of drawings created by the robotic arm was magnetically attached to the gallery walls using the same metal particulates. The installation was completed by garments from the Audire Fluctus collection, this time as a kind of relic of past events — pilgrims previously dressed in them could only be seen in the exhibited drawings.
